Night Owl Optics - Cyclops Compact Monocular

Night Owl Optics™ Cyclops Compact Monocular

Is this item any good. I e-mailed bass-pro - they say it's 3rd generation. It costs 199.99

(I have $100 in gift certificates for Bass pro - I have a Bass Pro Visa, for every $1000 charged you get a $10 certificate.)

Does anyone have this thing - - is it any good?

If this guy is telling you that it is Gen3 then he's either lying or doesn't know what he's talking about; the Night Owl Cyclops is Gen1 Russian. Big difference.

Overall I've been satisfied with mine--though I realized the limitations of Gen1 before buying it. The main thing is not to expect too much. A lot of people buy Gen1 and are disappointed because they expect the crystal-clear picture seen in movies. (You have to spend quite a bit more to get anything approaching that.)

$199 seems to be the going rate these days. If you search around you may be able to find one at a slightly better price.
