Good luck... if this is anything like the '08 shortage, you've got another 3 months before anything beyond random, scattered availability is the norm.

Try the Dillon site, they have a store. I think they say you have to call to see if some items are in stock. http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/con.../23594/RL_550B

Buy it from Dillon....you're better off doing that anyway ....but they have had trouble for almost a year now meeting demands.../ so there will probably be a delay....but call them and ask.

A friend of mine just bought one last week from Graf's in St. Charles, Mo. They had 4 or 5 there at the time. Not sure if your close to there or if they still have them. Good luck in your search.

Place your order at Dillon, and sit back. The longer you wait, the further to the back of the line you go.

You can order it from Dillon and wait at least 3 months or you can buy one on Ebay for $499 and get it next week....your choice.

If you buy from e-bay you stand the risk of having to wait for parts from Dillon needed to fix the damage done buy the seller, but at least the parts are free.

Brian Enos sells them, and he's about as good a place to get one as any.
But, he's saying there's a long wait. http://brianenos.com/store/dillon.html

I was lucky to get a like new 550b on ebay for less than new price last week. Red's put up 8 550b's without caliber conversions last night for $499 shipped. They all were gone in a few hours. That's about $100 over regular retail but not too bad for these times. I've seen Dillon's go for twice the regular retail price on ebay recently. CRAZY!

Bought mine on craigslist. Guy was selling out all reloading stuff and it had never been used...his eyes were bigger than his stomach, so he collected it all and loaded less than 500rds.

half a dozen on Ebay as of this post. Maintain your discipline if you go that route though. A year or two back when I upgraded to a Hornady I sold my three year old Lee turrent for about 10 bucks less than a new one. Started it at 25 bucks and a couple of guys got in a bidding war. By the time it was over they would have been better off buying new

Their worth the searching or waiting. I've had mine for ~ 20 years now and had exactly one problem with it in thousands of rounds loaded. One call to Dillon and they told me which screw was loose, lol.
Do get the spare parts kit for it. Things do wear on it. Being able to put in the new part and get back to loading within 10 minutes is priceless. |

I found a 550b on craigslist about six months ago for $200. Jumped on it immediately. Figured when I got to the guy's place it would be a beat up pos. It was not. It was like new. Didn't even look used. It ended up including shell plates and carbide die sets for .223 and .308. The guy also included a few hundred primers and 3-4 lbs of powder.
I haven't used it yet, but I am damned glad I bought it! Based on what I am hearing now, looks like I should be arrested for stealing it! Sent from my Xoom via tapatalk |

I found this local shop that specializes in reloading. The last time I was in he had 2 550b and 4 SDB in stock. I have not been back for about a week now so I don't know if he still has them or not. Are you located in Florida?

If you intend to call Dillion for anything, use their regular phone number, tried calling the toll free 800 number several times over 2 days and nothing but busy signal. Had made 2 calls to them a week apart, first to order a bent decapping bolt, got right thru then put in cue for 30 minutes, arrived 4 days later free under warranty. Discovered I had lost the carbide expander somehow, same thing 30 minutes in cue.
Good luck getting a press or dies, had .308 dies and tool head back ordered, finally arrived 3 weeks later. |

Dillon's website currently states that it is taking 6 - 8 weeks for orders to ship for reloading machines and equipment.
