Indoor, because I mainly shoot at, or up to 25 yards with handgun's. That, and my gun's don't like desert sand/dust of outdoors.

TBS, if I was shooting a rifle at 100-300 yards, well....

I see some of you guys posting pics of nearby shooting areas. I guess you can develop several loads jump on a 4 wheeler if needed , shoot'em and get instant feedback. Hell you can do this for hours at a time till you get a load you like.... HAHAHA suckers......

I don't have to deal with that headache ha ha ha.... since I'm limited on when I can shoot and where I can......

I have yard work and honey do's to fill my time with.

I moved away from the city about 40+ years ago for reasons like this.
To answer:
my back yard;
a private club range about and hour from my house, $30.00 a year;
a semi-public range about two hours from my house, $1.00 a day;
a public range about an hour from my house, free.
I don't like the public one even though it is the best facility. It is open to any kind of yokel. Too many shooting there with no sense of range courtesy or safety. If it were legal and I wouldn't go to hell, I would shoot these jerks.
My backyard is fun and convenient but the way I have it set up is only 35 yards.

Middle of the Desert.

I hope to go to the indoor range at Calibers, 10 bucks plus cost of ammo and you get a target, eye and ear protection, and all day to shoot. plus, wide selection of pistols, rifles, and a couple SMG's you can rent.

When i lived in Apache Junction, AZ I shot indoor at The Caswells range in Mesa just east of Mesa Drive. Outdoor I shot at the Usrey Pass range also in mesa.

Now that I live in Eastern AZ, I have several options. I have a 25 yd range for sighting in and load test off my front porch. About 50 yards I have a 300 yard range set up.

When my exSeal friend comes over with his 50cal or 338 we have up to a mile range laid out just east of my home.

The only problem is that the Marines and Air Farce Helos often stray out of their designated training area and use our back stop, (1000 foot hill) as a terrain masking feature. One Saturday they flew through our range at about 150 feet and continued over my home at the same altitude. Since I notified the flight safety people they have stopped violating the flight minimums.

I shoot at my local indoor range. I live in the boonies, and I could shoot in my yard if I wanted to...but I don't want to. I know a man who used to shoot in his yard, until one day he was doing that very thing, and then, it happened. Two local punks who happened to be in the area heard him shooting, and they tracked the sound of the gunfire to it's source. After ascertaining which house the shooting was coming from, they came back later when my acquaintance was gone, broke into the home....and stole every gun he had. In my opinion, it pays to NOT advertise, but hey, to each their own.

Range with huge individual berms that you can drive right up to. Several pistol lines, shotgun areas and a 1000 yard rifle range.

100% done with indoor ranges if I can avoid it at all. I'm very fortunate to have 2 amazing ranges near me.

I am lucky to live in a rural Michigan area where the county provides a free, outdoor shooting area/range for pistol and rifle shooting. So convenient that I can drop by for a short time, shoot 50 rounds and head back home to work in the office, etc. I remember when I had to drive out of state (Illinois to Wisconsin) to shoot.

There are several indoor ranges nearby, I frequent one that's about a 10 min drive. It costs me about $20 for about an hour. They allow you to bring your own ammo and dont have any restrictions on steel cased vs brass, etc. Plus the staff is friendly. There is an outdoor range not far but too many restrictions for my taste.

Got the sportman's club 7 miles away I've been going to for some time now... 200/100/50/25 yard shooting ranges, an indoor range for winter, relaxed and pretty informal for $55/year

Recently discovered a small range about 30 miles away in the town where I grew up that I really love... recently refurbished with a dedicated pistol range in addition to the rifle range, beautiful views of the mountains, for $35/year... suspect I'll be there a couple days a week this summer.

Mountains. I live in Oregon and we have a buttload of empty space everywhere. A 15 minute drive in either direction and I'll be at a gravel pit.

I am not a big fan of ranges...Mainly because I just don't trust everyone with a gun.

My back yard range is to 400 yards.

About 3 miles away is an old abandoned gravel pit on BLM land I can get to 2000 yards.

Indoor ranges locally. It's tough to shoot outdoors here in Northern VA because there's no open land due to all of the development (homes and businesses).

My wife's parents and grandfather have property I can shoot on. It's about 2 hours north of us so we only get out there twice a month. I also shoot at an indoor range closer to home that is expensive but at least improving. If it wasn't for taking my little brother, I'd never shoot there and much prefer private land. Out north I can do whatever I want and get a lot more out of my CCW practice. It also gives me a chance to do fun stuff like shooting 2 liters of Faygo, watermelons and whatever else I can think of.

Don't even ask what i pay for my hunting lease. We have 500 acres for 4 people. I set up a range so that I can take advantage of the property year round. I have a permanent bench set up for out to 250 yards.

I can get 100n yards off my front porch or 200 yards in back yard. With pistols shoot off front porch almost every day and take rifles behind the house.
