S/147/G - mismatch. It's an RC that has been boogered with, but I still think it is a nice one.

I have a bcd Weimar mismatch. Still a very nice shooter and in good shape.

Yours looks very nice too.

A nice rifle, but I agree that it is a humper. The WaA63 parts were made by Mauser Oberndorf, not Sauer, and inspector #37 apparently didn't get to Sauer until 1939, so there is a lot of parts mixing. The buttplate, with its pristeen screws is just too good to be true and so is the lower metal (trigger guard and floorplate). The number fonts don't look quite right, either, and the stock has obviously been cleaned and sanded. A good generic K.98k, just not serious collector quality.

It has a beautiful bore with no pitting and strong rifling.

I just picked it up and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I'll take it out and give it a try after I get back from my elk hunting trip.

Have a RC Oberndorf mauser with Wemar marks. Nice condition like yours, but mine is mismatched too. Regardless, its a good shooter and always brings some other shooter to my bench to look at it when I have it at range I'm a member.

Congrats on your Sauer, never could find one at a price I could afford or in decent condition.
