Gunsmith recommendation, Northern Virginia

I've used the search and found some recommendations for Northern Virginia Gun Works. However, the service I need does not need to be first rate, and I don't want to waste anyone's time. I just picked up a 30-30 lever action and a 20gauge shotgun from a friend's Grandma. They were my friend's Grandfather's guns. Both are Western Field brand which from what I've read is a name used by Montgomery Ward to sell other brands (such as Mossberg). I bought these at the Grandma's yard sale because my friend is working up North and I wanted to get these back to him one day. They have sentimental value to him. I don't need them cleaned up too much. I just want to make sure they're in good working order and not dangerous. The 30-30 dry fires with the safety on and off, and I imagine there could be other problems. My gun knowledge doesn't go much farther than rifle and shotgun merit badge from back in the day. Any suggestions?
