New Ruger SR 45

I just got this pistol, and took it to the range this evening. It is very accurate and soft shooting. Fifty rounds of Lawman 230 grain went into a ragged 2" hole at ten yards off hand, as did ten rounds of HST. If you like 45s, this is a great gun, in my opinion.

It seems like Ruger will have another winner with this one. I want one, and here in California, I won't have to use a castrated magazine. Thanks for the report.

Funny. I had no idea I was committing a cardinal sin.

All this grief for trying to be informative. Just kidding.

Anyhow, I, too, think this gun is going to be a winner. I haven't heard of a compact version, but it'd be a good idea. Ruger as a bunch of new models coming out, but the owner of the GS I frequent, who is good friend, said that Ruger, as well as most other mfgr's, are waaaay behind.

He be told me among other things, that .22 ammo is 18 months behind.

This is the gun I've been waiting for!
Affordable, reliable and accurate!
None in stock at my LGS yet though so I haven't even held it yet!
I owned the SR40 for a while but I want a .45. This gun will be the one as I can't afford a good 1911!

Was in a local gunshop this morning and they had the SR45 for $409.00. They had a SR9 right beside it for $449.00.

Picked up a gen4 Glock21 day after Sandy Hook. I would of rather had this Ruger SR45 then the 21. My 21 has weak ejection and some BTF issues. I would like to see the pic also.

"Sandy Hook" is this some kind of measurement of time?
Can't we let those people rest & not remind everyone everyday?
Personaly I won't forget, but everytime it is brought up, it means "guns killed children"

I can not wait till this gun becomes more available. There has been a lack of affordable well built .45's on the market. Would make a perfect woods gun in stainless. Not only is it weather resistant but at around $400 a pop you wont feel too bad dragging it through the woods like you would a 1911.

Be sure to post pics when you get them.

I am also interested in getting the SR45...when I can find one.

Yes, unfortunately, it is a measure of time. It is, and always will be, a point in the history of our gun rights that will never go away and could forever change our rights to own the guns that WE want and should have the legal right to own. It may well be a point in time that has dire consequences for our society in the future. We all understand that the people directly involved have suffered tremendously, none of us emerged from this unscathed.

And, it may mean "guns killed children" to you...but to me, it means that an idiot killed children and had a profound impact on a community and an entire country.JMO

shootniron "And, it may mean "guns killed children" to you..."

It really doesn’t mean that to me, I feel the same way you do.
But every time it is brought up, it is brought up by the Media & Politicians to push their gun taking agendas, blaming the guns not the crazy person, so we should not use it as a measure of time.

I to want one of the new SR45, sorry for sidetracking your thread.

The SR45 is a nice-looking gun. The other SRs are great too, I'm sure it'll be a winner.

I'm really excited to see this one. SR series = great, .45 ACP = great... it's a slam dunk IMO. It's especially nice to see manufacturers press onward with production and putting out new models despite all the gun control talk. Let's all follow suit and fight the good fight!
