CH "C" Press

I bought this a while ago... Seem to finally get the time to put the bench back together.

After putting all together, I couldn't seem to reload my 44 mag rounds. I had to buy a Shellholder. (Forgot about them) But now my Shellholder won't adapt to this CH press....

I know its old, but isn't there a place that makes a new ram that would modernize it a bit?

You could try http://www.ch4d.com/
They might still support your model.

Enjoy,

In the old days RCBS and Pacific used rams with integral shell holders. I would suggest you measure the length and diameter of your ram the furnishe the information to C&H 4D.

I think I got it.... I emailed RCBS and they gave me a reply. So in case anyone else is looking for the same thing:

Me saying:
I was told that you may have a part that I can buy (RAM) for a CH "C" press. Its an old model but tough...

I am looking for a Universal ram that would take your Shellholders.

They Said:
Hi part #9109 you can order at www.rcbs.com or 1-800-533-5000 or
Cabela's 1-800-237-4444 www.cabelas.com
Natchez 1-800-251-7839 www.natchezss.com
Midway 1-800-243-3220 www.midwayusa.com
Grafs 1-800-531-2666 www.grafs.com
Midsouth 1-800-272-3000 www.midsouthshooterssupply.com

Doing some checking and it looks like the only two places that have it are:
Matchezee and Misouth. About $30.00

Universal C Press Ram

Fits virtually all 'C' and 'O' type presses. Features relieved clearance for spent primer removal, a quick detach clip for easy shell holder insertion and removal, which also gives you floating shell holder action for perfect alignment.

(Rams do not include shell holder)

Item #:412090

$23.50

$23.00 or $30, and it fits all 'C' presses, I have 'C' presses that have rams that are not the same diameter, meaning I would suggest you measure the length and diameter of the ram in your press, then furnish the information to C&H 4D.

Yep, on some old presses the ram was intended to be used as the shell holder. I have a C-H press and I bought a "universal" ram from C-H and it's now my dedicated priming press. I believe somewhere I saw an adaptor for using the old ram, may have been a Herters adaptor...

Don't forget C-H is still in business, go to thier website , CH4D is the new name, they sell parts, adapters ,clips, rams , anything you need for your old press. Call them and tell them what you have and what the problem is, they have the answers. Very nice people. I needed an adapter to fit a shellholder to a ram and they fixed me right up and even knew what parts I would need when I didn't have a clue.
If CH4D told you to call RCBS for thier parts , that sounds strange to me.
