Leupold 3-9 x 33mm
Shot w/Harris Bipod on front, sandbag at the rear...
100 yards

165 grain Hornady Interlock SST
58 gr Hodgdon 4350 (98% of max)
CCI 200 primer
C.O.L = 3.320"
Remington cases (fire formed and flash holes uniformed)

Elevation ≈ 65'
Temperature ≈ 15° F
9 shots total (3 groups of 3)
Average velocity = 2901 fps
Extreme Spread = 35.41
Standard Deviation = 12.84
Group 1 = 1.4375"
Group 2 = 1"
Group 3 = 1.0625"
Average Group = 1.17"

Scope hit me twice because of light hold w/light rifle...Ouch
Will likely try groups w/slightly different powder charge (-.5 gr?)

If I could offer a suggestion........It will get you results faster to change the powder charge more dramatically. Usually you want to change enough to see 100fps differnce IMO. Especially in the early stages of working up a load. Also, I have found I try the min. mid, and max. powder charges first at a given seating depth I THINK will be ideal. Once I find out what spead/powder charge works, then I go to seating depth. I start out around 10 thousands jump to the lands. THen I do a 15 and 20 thousandths. I also go closer like 5 and 2 thousandths. Usually the seating depth has just as profound of impact on my loads as powder charge. Remember when you start seating closer to the lands to whatch for pressure sings too. Good luck.

Wyo,

I'm shooting the T3 lite in blue/black.
Nearly the same load except 59gr 4350 w/ 150gr hornaday btsp interlocks.
I was shooting almost the same groups as you w/ the occasional 3/4in group.
I slit the neck on a formed case, started a bullet and closed it into the rifle w/ the bolt. Took that measurement and built some rounds exactly .010 shorter. My new norm is 3/4in. Will continue to play but I really like what I'm seeing. Hopefully I will get it down to the area of my old Tikka .243. Shooting dime size groups w/ it.

I reload for my Tikka 300WSM and cannot seat far enough out and still get them to feed thru the mag.
I seat to maximum magazine length and still get MOA or better.
I have not been able to get the veolcities stated in the manual.
I wonder if the long leade has anything to do with that?
Anybody chrono their Tikka?

I think I'll try the slit case/C.O.L gauge trick for both my bolt rifles. Good Idea. To the last poster, the shots above were through a Shoting Chrony Alpha Master I also shot some work up loads through it with the same rifle prior to saving the current data for a range report. The numbers re pretty darn close to published data (Hodgdon online Manual/ test bbl length unknown)
