45 acp case length

Hey guys ? on case length on a 45 acp. maximum is obviously .898,
what is th minimum length a case can be? I have found some that
are significantly shorter than that. Does anyone else find this odd?
I thought they lengthened when being shot?

According to the SAAMI drawing it is 0.898-0.878 but I've seen some even shorter.

The .45 ACP is a pretty low pressure cartridge so case length really doesn't change much.

It hardly ever makes any difference either.

Every .45ACP case I ever used shrank. I reload them until the necks split; never a problem.
