H 335 for my M1

Has anyone ever used Hodgon H 335 for reloads for the M1, it seeme like everone likes IMR 4895. I'm using 150 gr. FMJ/BT Hornady and 50gr. of H 335 Just looking for some feedback on this powder. It works great in my 5.56 and 7.62X51.

Somewhere in the middle of the article, the author says, "There are other powders, for example Hodgdon's BL-C(2) and H-335, that will give performance about like that of Win. 748 Ball."

The table above (for 150gr bullets) shows loads of 49-50gr of Win 748.

My experience is with Varget, so I can't personally endorse H-335...but the above (often referenced) article seems to indicate that it has been used in the Garand.

I also want to reload for my M1, but was thinking of using Varget since I have a bunch for my .223. Any other Varget M1 users care to chime in on experience?

I use 46.0gr of Varget with Hornady 150gr FMJBT and Winchester brass.

I have a McCann adjustable gas cylinder lock screw (gas nut) with one of the intermediate orifices installed and this seems to cycle reliably without any receiver heel battering.

I've read that it is possible to use Varget without the adj. gas nut, but I use it anyway because I've also read that a SEI brake will increase pressures slightly.

If you're reloading for competition, there may be problems with adjustable gas nuts and brakes are definitely not approved.

I use 49.0gr of Varget with 150gr bullets for a hunting round in a Ruger #1 or a bolt-action, but I wouldn't consider that a Garand load.
