garand sling

Can anyone tell me how to set up and use the older U.S. military leather slings used on 1903's, Garands, M14's... I believe Paladin Press has a whole book dedicated to the "art" of setting up and using this classsic sling, but I dont even know what the model designation is for this particular item. I just purchased a pair for both my M1A and Garand and cant tell one end from the other.

Fulton Armory has a tutorial on their website for the Model of 1907 sling that will show you everything you need to know.

The tutorial on Fulton Armory's site is the original 'conventional' method of using a 1907 sling.

I use an alternate method I learned via the book on Leather Slings by Jim Owens. You can see a photo tutorial for this method here:
