There great, I have had a few different experiences with them. Mostly food we still butcher our own beef, hogs, deer, etc. The vacuumed sealed packages do last longer, but you must make sure there are no sharp bones poking out or it will fail, I am still working on a solution to this. I also vacuumed sealed ammo, make my own battle packs works best with cardboard boxed ammo. Loose ammo or on stripper clips will puncture and loose the seal. I have also done clothing for a trip. My wife works for the VA and had a business trip that was in San Diego, CA. which was free trip for me except for plane ticket. I only brought a backpack that I vacuumed sealed all my cloths in. Worked great really opened up allot of room. I was planning on putting this under the plane but the quick check gal said it would count as my one carry on. Cool except I had a folding pocket knife and some toiletries with more that the 3 oz of liquid in them that threw a red flag going thru security. The security check people were quite interested in my vacuumed sealed green shorts, green shirt and green underwear. They did not open them but it did cause allot of scrutiny.
