Jame Bond and I like the Beretta 418 shown in the lower right of this pic. The Beretta 70 may be a little big for the pocket, but one of the girls in the latest Bond movie, Skyfall, was wearing one in a thigh holster.

Wow, great pics everyone!!

Bill - I wish Kel Tec still offered that color blue from their Gen 1 series. I would have one in a heart beat. Plus, that engraving on yours just sets it off wonderfully.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions to this thread - truly a great group of wonderful little jewels!!

BERETTA 95 BS 25 cal

Love this 20 year old gun, but does anyone know how to reduce the trigger pull? seems like around 12 pounds on S.A.! Hammer cock takes a lot of effort also-are these related?

Another fan of the Beretta Model 950 B/BS Minx and the 3032 Tomcat!

I must say, I'm not much of a fan of the aesthetics on the Kahr models. Great guns, but just not "jewels," IMHO.

Mine is a Beretta 950 BS .25.
Be careful with those Tomcats if you're hand is large.
The rear tangs on the slide can - and will - gouge quite a furrow in your hand. DAMHIKT

You can avoid it if your grip is right but it's hard to focus on that in a stress situation. Be extra careful if you have CT's on it.

Baby Browning guy here. It's an old time standard. Easy to carry but the hitting power of .25 is questionable. An officer friend has pointed out to me, if you need to use it plan on pulling the trigger over and over. A couple manufacturers offer a 1200 fps round with a quartered bullet. Helps!

+2. I carry it often. Ok, so ,22LR may not be much. But I'm not in a position to carry much bigger, and it's better than a ballpoint pen.

That's the thing about the Beretta's and similar...yeah they're only .25 or 22LR but it's the one I carry all the time.
It's just so convenient.
I have snub .38's...I have my eye on a compact 9 like an M&P Shield - which fits my hand very well - but I just know I won't carry it regularly - not as regularly as the Beretta.

Are you sure about that? I thought the Colt mustang was the great granddaddy?

Colt mustang (introduced in 1983, I think) might lay claim to being the daddy, but it was a pretty faithful copy of the venerable Star DK (most modern variant began production in 1928).

So, looks like: P238 = copy of Colt Mustang = copy of Star DK.

See here for some good info:

Will

pocket guns

i wanted to like my beretta21 in 22lr, but had all sorts of trouble with it at range, much to my surprise. too bad, it is the perfect size and tip up barrel makes it safe to use. i will stick with my much loved ruger lcr 22lr, my larger caliber taurus85, bersa thunder and ruger sp101 are too bulky/heavy for easy pocket carry. im wondering if i should get a ruger lcr 22magnum, tho i wish it had 7 instead of 6 shots.

Pocket Jewel

The Remington pocket pistol of 1863

The brass frame is beautiful (in my eyes) but unfortunately I can't use the .32 S+W conversion cylinder in a brass frame.
The conversion cylinders all say: Steel Frame Only.

Anyone know a company that can plate a steel frame so it looks like brass ?
I doubt I can afford gold.

cwok, I don't know where you're located but any decent sized town or metropolitan area has plating businesses and can pretty much plate any steel with anything. Even if you're located in the boonies, the power of the internet will help locate one.

CWOK, that is a neat little pistol. Do you have any pics of it next to a modern snubnose for scale?

Brass plating is soft and will wear through easily if the gun is used. The plating will tarnish, and polishing it will remove it.
