Concealed carry practice in the Seattle area
If you are in the Seattle area and hold a concealed license you might want to check this out. Great opporunity.
http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/lss/1031344632.html Posted on Craigslist: ----------------------------------------- Are you interested in shooting your concealed pistol from the holster? For concealed carry owners: draw and shoot on the move. Learn the basic techniques from a NRA Certifed Instructor. Also introduction to IDPA Competition (International Defensive Pistol Association). Requirements: 1) WA State Concealed Carry Permit (or) member to Renton Fish and Game Club 2) Holster and pistol 3) Ammo - at least 100 rounds 4) 1 hour What: Cover basic drawing from concealed holster and shooting Where: Outdoor range in Renton Cost: Range Fee and targets at outdoor range (This is my hobby so no charge for my time) Why: I've been there.... there is no range you can practice to draw, engage targets on the move for concealed carry holders. Yes, you can join several ranges for a membership fee from $150-$350 per year but for most of us that's just not within our budget. Most of these will allow you to draw but not shoot on the move. I enjoy teaching and also giving the opportunity for other like minded law abiding citizens to become proficient and safe.

I'd like to participate but my weekends are usually booked up by family. Any chance you do this weekday mornings or early afternoon?

My first one was Wednesday, March 18th so yes but it's just depends on when I'm free so no promises as when the next one will be.
This only comes available once in a while so take advantage if you can. Look at it this way. It's close and it'll only cost you about $10 for range fees. Maybe next time then. There are not many places that'll let you shoot this way unless you join a very expensive membership.

Another practice day... May 17th
Looking at Sunday, May 17th for another practice day for CPL holders at Renton Fish and Game Club.
Format will be a bit different as I'm doing just one block time. So, start at 10 and goes until 1pm (so only 3 hours). No walk on's past 10:30 so if you're late you don't shoot. Everyone starts together and you can go home anytime. I'm planning to have 3 bays open so you can choose which one you want. Bay 1 will focus on running basic and intermediate scenarios Bay 2 will be more one to one basic instruction for those interested. Basic movement forward and back and Bay 3 will be open for you to use and practice what you need. I'll have a role of steel plates up (30 feet for safety) No you do not need frangibles. Everyone will be 30 feet back. This will be a fast shoot and we'll run as many people through.... so be ready. As usual everyone will go through a safety check at the beginning and we'll go as a cold range. No ammo, no magazine in the firearm, no handling firearms except on the firing line. Anyone breaks these rules and they go home. No second chances. So, email me back so I can put you down. For those that have not shot with me you'll go through Bay 2 until your cleared by the RSO (Range Safety Officer) then you can shoot either bays. Let's have some FUN. Bring lots of ammo and load the magazines up! Again, Christian and Randy will be helping to run the ranges - thanks to them for their great help in doing this. Sunday, May 17th at 10! Come a bit early to help set up. Please do pre-register. No walk on's or same day shooters. To register just email me with your name, phone and background information pertaining to how much shooting you have done and if you have a CPL or are a member of the club. See you at the range. Young
