I took my granddaughter elk hunting the first time when she was 12 and old enough to legally hunt big game in Wyoming.
We went to the Big Horn Mountains where we get plenty of snow and cold. We also hunt with horses. Being a dumb a** I didn't check with the gear her mother packed. So I spent a lot of time, stopping to warm her feet inside my shirt. It was kind of nice, since at the same time I built a fire and made her some hot Chocolate and had some good "alone time" with my favorite young lady. But never again. Soon as I got home I took her out and found some White Pac's. Everyone had a more enjoyable time when their feet are warm. If the feet are warm it's easier to keep the rest of her warm. These are Cowboy Pacs, meaning they are designed for horse back riding, (boots fitting the stirrups). They have other versions. They are well worth it, her feet never got cold. White's Packs --> http://www.whitesboots.com/index.php...oduct_id=29780 Of course not boot will do any thing for the little pea size brain.

How old is your daughter? Feet still growing? If so, don't blow a lot of money on boots she won't be able to fit into next season..... a cheap pair of Rocky's will last a season...... 800-1000 gram boots will make for sweaty (and thus cold) feet if much walking is done before you get on stand..... Eldes daughter had a pair of these: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Footw...3Bcat104392980 Now Jac "Cold Toes" is wearing them..... still water proof and warm, 4 years of wear ....... |

Thanks for the input. I also told her sweaty feet and the cold are a no no. She's 29 but built slighlty though she does shoot a .45-90.
