surplus rifles
Someone here recomended the Civilian Makmanship Program as a place to get surplus rifles. What are some other places to get surplus rifles, pistols, or ammo? How do these places work?
Thanks for any information. |

Virtually any place that sells guns can sell surplus military guns. There are obvious exceptions, of course, like Wal Mart, which only sell new firearms, but once a milsurp enters the U.S. commercial market, it's really just another firearm.

Start researching C&R (Curios and Relics). Some supplies are getting thin. Mausers (especially the Swedes) are wonderful rifles. The K-31 (Swiss) is another extremely well made rifle.

Buy a "Shot Gun News" and have fun. Gun Digest mag another good source to start. You can get the fever from which there is no cure except more rifles.

the CMP is an excellent place for M1 Garands and Carbines right now. You better hop on it though....Once they are gone, good luck. Ammo is a great buy as well.
