Remington Arms leaving NY?
I heard today they had decided to move out of NY. Can anybody confirm, or deny, this as an unfounded rumor?

I hope so, I can honestly say that I won't be able to get past the Ilion, NY engraving on their products again. I am in the market for a new bolt action rifle, but it won't be made in NY.
I would also like to see the NRA move it's corporation out of NY, I am sure they have to pay taxes to the state they are incorporated in.

It would be especially nice if they could engrave AZ on them from now on. I hope they move and I especially hope they move to my freedom-loving state!

I'm pretty sure they'd be welcome in Arkansas! Heck, we've already got a Remington plant where ammunition is manufactured.

The fact of the matter is you have a list of pro gun, pro business states with good workforces as long as my arm that would welcome any gun related business.
Just a few I can think of... Wisconson Indiana Arizona Nevada Missouri Florida Georgia Virginia Heck...almost any state that is not West of the Rockies , East of Ohio or North of Virginia... Indiana and Wisconsin have already activly been trying to get businesses to relocate from Illinois. I have no doubt if any kind of an AWB were to ever pass here they would take those states up on that offer!

Remington already has a factory here in Kentucky and their technical and research center is located in Kentucky. Consolidating here makes a lot of sense.

Well, I live in Ga.
Either Glock has a lot of political pull here, and wanting to keep others out for some reason, or our Gov. (nathan deal) does not give a crud. He has in no way, it would appear, reached out to any other Manf. about moving here. Heck, the unemployment rate here is only higher than the national average. Why do we need more jobs? |

MS and CT are having a debate about who should move.
http://nhregister.com/articles/2013/...4298920120.txt How can CT claim to be gun friendly when they want to ban a company's major product line? Duh!

Why Colt, Sig and Mossberg still stay in that state is beyond me! The only thing Blumenthal wants is the tax money they provide to fund their socialist programs! While I would love to see all the gun manufacturers move to Wyoming (yeah, a little personal bias on my part ), I'm still good with any state that is a pro-gun, free-state to see our manufacturers move into where they are actually welcomed!

I doubt Remington will do anything until the Freedom Group is sold.
CT has many makers who have been there for long times - they have the machinists, physical plant, and I am sure all sorts of tax incentives |

I'm sure TX, whose budget is in good shape, would happily match and exceed any tax incentives. Come on down.

The whole thing about NY "tax incentives" just kills me. The state has businesses in their commercials saying "No other state could have done what NY did for us!"
Technically true, because no other state WOULD HAVE HAD TO because no other state's taxes SUCK AS BAD AS NY! It'd be like if I stole $100 from you every week and then after a few months I only stole $80 and made you do a commercial saying "No other mugger could have done what Brian did for me!" Of course not, Stupid, no one else was mugging you!

They would be welcomed with open arms here in the gun friendly state of Kentucky.

Isn't Kimber based in NY? Have they made any statements as of recently in regards to the NY laws?

Spats I'm with you man! I'm an Arkansas boy myself and I would love it if Remington brought their gun plant to the same state where they produce ammo.
