Sig P239 or HK P2000sk

If you we're looking at used guns in 9mm and saw these (both SA/da). The P239 is cheaper by about $200.00. Which would you go with and why? If there was no price difference would that change your mind?

I had a 239. I was quite happy with it. I had always wanted an H&K and a P2000SK came along and I sold the SIG. It is a bit lighter and without taking exacting measurements, the H&K is thinner I beleive... could be wrong. Anyway, for me, it is a much more comfortable IWB carry pistol.

EDIT: Just checked... the H&K is .1" thicker. I guess it just feels better to me than the SIG.

Go with the one you like better. They are both excellent. If you like them both about the same, go with the SIG.

If you are thinking HKs must be worth more money because they cost more, well, I don't think so. The SIG P239 is also top quality.

I have the p229, the p239's bigger brother. It was the first handgun I ever purchased. I do not carry it anymore. I find the slide is bulky and is not therefore very comfortable for IWB carry.

I have a compact USP in 9mm. My wife carries it. She loves it. (these can be found used in 9mm or 40, and cheaper than the p2000. nearly the same gun.)

I personally carry a springfield xdm 3.8 in 45 acp.

I have held both guns. The p239 seems noticeably thinner but heavier. The quality seems high in both. I like them both but cannot decide. I have shot a P2000sk but not the sig p239. I like the single stack of the sig. Hard to decide.

Between a SIG and an HK the quality and reliability is a wash. What matters is your preference. I found that the 239 was just too heavy for me. Other than that it was a fine pistol.

These are probably two of the best compact semi-autos out there. The Sig's a little thinner but maybe a little heavier. The H&K carries more rounds but 8+1 in the Sig is probably sufficient. You really have to nit-pick to find a fault with either. I am always tempted to buy either one and would like both and will probably end up with both. There are different versions of each (trigger-wise) but basically you can't really go wrong with either so whichever feels better in your hand would probably be the one to get.

This is the choice I made about 6 years ago. I went for the P2000sk because I like the controls better. Both are fine guns and the winner should be the one that "sings to you" more than the other. A $200 difference is not a major factor in my mind. Compared to the price of ammo the gun will run through, it's a drop in the bucket. If you already owned both, which one would you carry?

Love my 239, I had a USP Compact and the 239 carried so much better I traded the USP. I know the P2000 is a slim pistol but I'm thinking my next one is going to be a P30.

My 9mm P2000 SK is one of my favorite HK pistols -- accurate, easy to shoot well and reliable to a fault with any ammo.

I've put about 1,800 rds of assorted fmj/jhp ammo through it with zero malfunctions to date.

Its a very fine handgun by any measure.

I'd go with the p2000sk. It's on my wishlist.

P2000SK ftw. Best shooting subcompact of all time IMHO.
