Barrel for Ruger sr9c
Just bought a SR9c and love it! It has a 3.5 inch barrel and do you think a 4 inch barrel from a SR9 would fit and work in this pistol? Are they the same except for 1/2 inch? With the extended mag and short mag that comes with this pistol, you would then have BOTH an SR9 and a SR9c!

Barrel for Ruger sr9c
Does anyone know if this will work? Out of 119 people so far, no one knows if this is possible! Other than 1/2 inch difference, are the barrels interchangable?

Barrels are only available from Ruger. You'll have to contact them and see if they would be willing to put a 4" barrel in a 3.5" slide.

Barrel for Ruger sr9c
I already have the SR9c. Putting in a barrel takes about 15 seconds! My question I guess seems only to be answered by Ruger! I am supprised no one has ever tried this if you have both a SR9 and a SR9c! If anyone has both pistols, please check and see if the 4 inch barrel will fit in the SR9c. I don't know if they are interchangable. Thanks!

All parts between the sr9c and sr9 are interchangeable with the exception of the striker assembly.
what you seek to do is pointless unless you're threading the sr9 barrel for extra fun. |

Wouldn't that change your head spacing? I would think you would want a matching slide too but I don't know for sure if it matters or not.

Barrel for Ruger sr9c
I remember looking at several pistols that have a barrel protrude a little out of the slide. Its not a major change or pointless in that every extra bit of barrel gives more velocity however small that might be. It would also give my SR9c a different look. I seem to remember one or two people on this website that have changed barrels for all sorts of different reasons. Some of them were pointless to me!

I do not think it will work as there is a difference in the outer diameter of the barrel. You will notice a step in the barrel when you rack the slide. This step will be to far in front if you put in a longer barrel and will not be in the slide when the slide is in battery.

Barrel for Ruger sr9c
I called the Ruger factory. They said the barrel of the Ruger Sr9 would not fit on the SR9c! Bummer! This would have made a neat switch. IMO
