Lube for cast bullets

I will be using smokeless powder in my 45-70 sharps rifle ..I got away from the black stuff..It was fun though...
My question is,if I keep to the same muzzle velocity does it matter if the lube
is for black powder or the other type of lube's for cast bullets...Hope I aint cornfusing you here...Thanks John

Hello, savagelover. You will be fine using the same lube for smokeless. I have been making my own lubes for 40 years, and I have found the softer consistancy lubes to be more accurate even in smokeless loads.

I like SPG for all my big-bore, big-groove, slow boolits...regardless of what I push them with.

The same lube will work. I understand the BP does not work well with petroleum products, so vegetable/animal oils and fats are used.
I could go into the ease of shooting as-cast and tumble-lubed bullets using LLA, but you are NOT a newbee to lead bullets.
