Anyone know of a female reloader?

I have been reloading since my 20s, and I've met a few reloaders in that time. Most were older gentlemen, who I would meet at the range or at the LGS, and we would strike up a conversation about reloading.

It occurred to me that I've never met a reloader who was female. I regularly read this section of this board, and I've never seen a female reloader.

Does anyone know of a female reloader? I don't just mean a female who uses her husbands' equipment, every now and then, but a female who owns her own equipment and genuinely reloads her ammo and has her own reloading gear, like we do.

I wonder if Mom's Demand Action for Gun Sense has a reloading group, since it makes sense to reload ammo.

Your point is well taken and find somewhat humorous and ironic. YES, I personally know of only one, in our area and she is not shy about giving her husband some push-back when he runs short of supplies and is required to ask her permission to borrow some of hers. Some of the conversation gets interesting. Her Brother who I have shot with, for many years, starter her on shooting and reloading. When she go married, she had to set up her own station, in her new house. .....

Frankly, I'd trust her reloads before I'd trust her husbands. ....

Thanks and;
Be Safe !!!

I've seen some threads / replies on other forums where a husband will talk about his wife and how they reload together . . . but have to admit, I don't personally know of a woman who does it strictly by herself. (And I'm one of those "older gentleman" you refer to - although I won't admit that I'm getting older).

Reloading, like anything else isn't "gender biased" and I think it would be great if more women got involved in it. If they are out there on the forums, it would be nice if they would make themselves known. Not that being a woman has anything to do with "reloading" but I think it's just interesting to get to know other reloaders, what they reload and let's face it, we all learn from each other.

When my wife and I are in AZ during the winters, I often shoot with a "gal pal" from down the street - she's a "one gun gal" (a Sig .380) and let's just say I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of her shooting! I have talked to her about reloading but neither she or her boyfriend have the time due to their work schedules - maybe in a couple of years when she retires.

Interesting thread . . . glad you posted it. Will be interested to hear the responses.

One, & that is in 45 years of shooting & reloading in multiple countries.
It just seems to be one of those men/mars~women/Venus things I guess.

None in my 40 years of reloading. I have heard of a couple that assist their husbands.

My wife shoots enough to need to and she knows the basics but we have a deal.
I reload all the ammo and she cleans the kitty litter boxes,,,, that is a FAIR deal.

I met one years ago out at the range. She was a hunter and shot 7mm Magnum (?? I think that's what it was. I don't know my rifle cartridges very well. It was a big piece of brass with a small bullet - I remember that.)

She was a good shot. Easy on the eyes to boot ;-)

Several, including me. But I hate it and do it only for the savings. Shooting's more fun.

Sorry Pax but you are one of the guys now so that doesn't count. LOL. Don't take this wrong, but I am an Old Chauvinist Pig, and the father of three daughters.

Hmm. I truly enjoy handloading. Even the brass reconditioning process. It's my labor of love and a hobby in and of itself.

I have never met a female hand loader but I have met a couple guys who owned pink pistols that were hand loaders - would that count?

Noma Zinsmaster-Mayo is one of the top ranked high power competitors winning matches at the Nationals, written books on shooting, been on a few Palma teams; always reloaded her own as far as I know. I've shot with a few others.

Granddaughters, in the beginning it was like a horror story. Small hands and tiny fingers. She started by the numbers and repeat after me. She did not slow down when her grandmother found her at the press, she finished with "and I am doing a magnificent job".

She used a two stage grip, she pulled the handle about half way down by pulling then changed to pushing. Because she was eye level with the shell holder checking the gap between the bottom of the die and top shell holder made her a natural.
