Why Hornardy?

Just curious, because it was my first scale, and I purchased two others because I hated it. Got a significantly different read everytime. I got more consistent results w/ a cheapy Lee safety scale, which did as well as a 3-beam Ohaus.

powder scale

in answer to " why a Hornaday?"
I have a lyman and it is two hard to read, the little thingy on the right side is small and hard to get in right groove, and when a charge of powder is dropped in, the pan swings back and forth for a while and it swings the beam up and down. Takes an extra long time, to me, for it to settle down. I liked the way the Hornady has a slide on the bar.
Thanks for your replies,
ps: the Hornady has about the best writeup for a scale on Midway

The RCBS 505 and 1010 are both fine scales and easey to use, I have both and have checked them against lab weights and they are very good. So you might consider one of them as well as the Hornady ones.

Calibration weights are not that expensive and they are worth "their weight' in the confidence they provide with your scale.
