If you are at all interested in the 1911...

...you need to check out the January issue of SWAT magazine.

There is an excellent article by Ned Christiansen about what makes the 1911 tick, and what to check when it doesn't.

Another great issue from Denny and the crew!

garrettwc-
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. S.W.A.T.'s fortunate to have a smith of Ned's stature take the time to pen an article for us. Look for more articles from him in the future.

Certainly more the crew than me. Rich's vision, the art layout's from Betty, the endless hours Dennis puts in on the thankless job of copy editing, Kathy coordinating more stuff than I care to think about and of course our superb staff of writers, IMO, is what sets S.W.A.T. apart.

Very true Denny.

But what we all want to know is who got fast time in the autocross?

(Editors note: if you haven't read the issue you won't get this)

Rich did. Practice for the techniques learned can be summed up in two words: rental car

Misspent youth.

Practice since the course is Rentals. I'll never refuse the insurance option again.

Denny smoked us all on the high speed take-outs. For that practice, I'm still trying to find a willing volunteer and a Hertz outlet that'll rent me cars 2 at a time.

Heh...

You know, I read through that article, nodding my head the whole time, thinking "This cat really knows his stuff..."

Maybe if I'd read the frickin' byline, I'd have known why!
