Convert it to a 10mm. i think it's the same frame as the Glock 20.
It is.

The G21SF was my second gun ever---excellent firearm. You'll love it.

You can carry the G21. All you have to do is get a holster with lots of forward cant so the bottom of the grip does not print. Look at the El Paso Saddlery Dual Duty holsters. They have extreme forward cant. Also consider the DeSantis Cozy Partner IWB holster.

+1

I have the DeSantis, feels amazing. It's the hybrid. Half kydex and half leather. Forget it's even there. I have my SIG P226 with my beefy hogue grips (big but not beefy hands) on it and it conceals just fine in a t-shirt.

It fits my Glocks as well as my PPQ and a few others. I know..how versatile. It fits them safely.

Nice. Can't go wrong with a Glock.

So, I got it. It is pretty sweet!

First impression is...wow this thing is huge! It is a little big, but that should be fine for bowling pins, and HD.

It has a NY trigger! That thing must be 10 lbs. What is the best way to reduce the pull weight, but keep enough pull weight to still be good for HD? I'm thinking 4.5 - 5.5 lbs with a light take up like my XD.

take the NYC trigger out and go to a - connector. you need to replace it with a 6 LB trigger spring (stock is 5 lb) and between the two you will have a 4.5 trigger pull

I detail stripped and cleaned... Looks like new.

Trigger pull is still 8+.

Are Ghost trigger kits and springs top quality?

I saw the NY thingy in there. It might be good for someone, but for me, it is too heavy!

This thing feels nothing like my 1911!

Yes, very good stuff.

The Ghost Rocket or Ghost Ultimate kits are great. I don't think you need the striker spring though. Just get the Ghost connector and the 6lb Wolff trigger spring. That will give you the pull you are looking for.

Took the NY1 trigger out(10+ lbs per my scale). Replaced it with a Wolfe carry spring kit. Should be 5lbish. In my gun it is 7.5 lbs.

Brought it to the range today for the first time. Had fun blasting through about 125 rounds. Man, could I hit with this thing. Rapidfire, slowfire, it didn't matter!

Once I learned the reset point, rapid fire was easy. . .Maybe too easy.

Of course 100% reliable. Pretty comfortable, but the grip is as big as a brick!

Accuracy was not match grade in slow fire, but the groups didn't just go haywire breaking out some fast doubles and triples.

This one's a keeper. I also shot a friend's G23. It was fun, but not smooth in recoil.

Now I see why LEO like this gun.

I would recommend Trijicon night sights. They are pricy at 150$ but one of the best sights I have ever handled. On my 26 there like small LED lights.
As for what to do with it now, I agree with everyone else, shoot the bugger.

Thanks. It has Trijicon's on it now. The front is a bit dark.

The 30 and similar sized guns are the best compromise between bulk for carry and accuracy. Anything bigger won't fit most ccw setups and smaller guns are hard to shoot accurately in bigger calibers.

The 21 and it's kin weren't meant for ccw, unless you're wearing it under winter clothing.

Yes, you can go from .45 to .10mm. But why would you change out to go hiking. For a little more capacity?
Just wondering.

I have older 3rd gen g21 and g20 and gen 4 g17. Now I think I will get a gen 4 g21 as it sounds like the percieved grip is slimmer etc.

.45 doesn't provide anywhere near the amount of energy of penetration as a 10mm... .45 is great for 2 legged critters... not so much for 4 legged ones.

True, but adding a recoil buffer, a steel guide rod and a 24lb spring to a G21 will allow you to run 45 Super - which does match 10mm in velocity and ft/lbs while still using the stock Glock G21 barrel.
Those parts run $35-$45.
Running 45 Super avoids buying a $100+ 10mm barrel for the G21 or buying a 10mm specific G20, and 45 Super ammo costs noticably less as a bonus.

45 Super is 98% of 10mm performance at 1/3 the cost.

Its not so much a mod, but more of a simple parts swap. I got the parts, should have ordered the ammo too. Its cheaper than 10mm, but even more scarce.
There are several write-ups and videos describing it/showing it, its been done for years.
Some balk at running it that way, but I havent turned up any failures doing it, seems like money-saved so far.
