Remington 870 Improved Cylinder

I just want to double check before buying a second barrel for my 870, on the 20 inch rifle sighted improved cylinder that is safe for both slugs and regular shot isn't it?

Indeed. I have the same barrel and it handles rifled slugs rather well and buckshot within reasonable distances. Short barrel and open choke spreads faster, but as long as you know the pattern at various ranges it'll do fine. At 7 yards mine throws about a 5 to 6" pattern with buckshot, More than adequate for HD.

Indeed indeedy. It will pay to fire a variety of loads and types to see what it likes best- you would be surprised at the difference between different guns and loads.
