need help

can anyone tell my how to remove the barrel from a S&W 422 22lr pistol,thanks, Jim.

The barrel is held in by a nut and lock washer on the muzzle.
With the nut and washer off, the barrel slides backward and out of the frame.

Don't remove it unless you really, really have to, it takes a special wrench for the nut.

Thank you for the information. I thought the barrel should come right out after removing the nut an lock washer. I bought a well used 422, looked like it had never been cleaned.After I striped it down and cleanend it , it worked perfect,fed and ejected just fine, but it was off about nine inches to the left at 25 feet and after moving the rear sight almost all the way out of the dove tail I got it to shot to poa, just don't look right right with the sight over that far. I thought about replacing the barrel,thanks again, Jim.

I doubt a new barrel will correct that, and you'd be out a significant amount of money in any case.

In this situation, I'd send the gun in to S&W for a factory fix.
If it's a factory defect, they'll usually repair it free.

A new barrel EVEN IF you can find one will cost at least $70.00.
