I Joined The Shotgun Crowd Today
I've been looking for an inexpensive entry point to shotguns and got in today as cheap as I've seen in my area. I've been looking at Remington 870s and just about bought one at Academy Sports this past Saturday if it wouldn't have been for the extemely crappy service. So, today I stopped by the LGS and he had a used Mossberg 500 with a pistol grip on it for $225. I put some money on it and will pick it up shortly.
When it comes home with me I will be immediately replacing that awful pistol grip for the Hogue 12" lop stock. Every other shotgun I've handled just seems to have a greater lop than I could deal with, so, I think the Hogue stock will work out fine.

Welcome to the shotgun world !
( and if you're like most of us / there will be a few more shotguns coming thru your door ....).... I was out at my local club today getting 3 rounds of Skeet in - before the rain drove us back inside...but what a great way to spend an afternoon with some friends. I only averaged about a 23 ...but who cares...its about having a few laughs and a good day outside. |
