Top Shot returns this month.

Yes, our favorite tv show to criticize begins a new season on the History Channel, Weds, May 29 at 10pm.
Hey, sue me, I enjoy it, BS and all.
Wouldn't it be neat to have some of their props and setups in the back yard.

Hey, I got to admit I watch it. I am actually looking forward to it.

Yeah... I like it too. Its a little hokey, with rock throwing, and rope swinging, but it is entertaining at times.

I like looking at the guns, and wishing I had access to all they guns they get to play with.

Too much drama, not enough shooting.

I'd rather see a modified American Pickers show, where they search for the elusive 22 ammo or power and primers.

That right there is funny

I am looking forward to TS. I recently met Greg Littlejohn (2nd place, season 2?) and he is an awesome, stand up guy. I look forward to getting to shoot and talk with him again, maybe at next year's Surefire Texas Multigun match.

I love the show. The personal drama stuff...meh. Save that for the survivor reality shows I don't watch.

I like the competitions, especially the "you've been chosen now win or you're out" competitions. I'd pay good money to do those.
After, those are what got me involved in IDPA, which is my favorite happy fun time.

I'd love to be on a team competition that has to take down a rack of goodies like they routinely have to do. Looks fun!

Yeah, I wish Greg Littlejohn the best. He is an awesome person who takes time to talk to ANYONE about shooting. He really impressed me with his demeanor and character in person.

I don't like many shooting shows but I do like that one.

Dustin was amazing. I wonder what he would like like on a heart rate monitor while competion shooting?

I thought during the whole season "he isn't for real" and "he will never make it". At then end of the season I thought he was going to jump up and say; "Yeah I was on the SEAL teams for a while before I lost interest".

Sounds like their bringing back past contestants and maybe getting rid of some of the drama.

Great! I like this show probably better than any of the other gun related shows. I could do without the drama, but I guess they have to have something to use for filler or they couldn't fill the time slot. Really liked Dustin Elleman and Chris Reed and seeing some female competitors, guns are not just for guys. It would be fun to have some of the props to shoot at or from. All the gun shows have too much drama, but if it was strictly gun stuff it would be too boring for all but us gun nuts.

Good on History Channel for keeping a shooting show, when Versus or NBC Sports or whatever bailed on 3-Gun Nation and other shows after Newtown.

I Tivo it, so I just fast-forward through the drama

I... just... can't... do it. I tried to watch. The extraneous nonsense makes me ill. Shooting competitions are fun to watch. The other nonsense more than off-sets the good stuff. Hopefully they do away with the other stuff this year and make a good show.

If they do cut out the scripted personal drama (scripted? Oh, now - how could that be) - then I like the shooting challenges.

It's much better than other gun melodrama shows (whose titles I will not mention).

We shall see if they realize that the audience is not Karadasian friendly.

I would like to see a female version as the women seem to get eliminated early. Or a fat old guy version - who's gonna audition?

I watched season 1 and liked it. Season 2 was OK but the drama ratio was increasing and with season 3 I stopped half-way through, just too little shooting to offset the grinding reality-show jabbering.

I just realized I must be one of the only ones who DVR's it and then fast forwards to the competition parts. Really that is the only way to watch that show.

I wonder if the producers came to that epiphany on their own?

I do that with most shows I like. Cuts viewing time significantly.

What Glenn said. I rarely watch commercials or the blah blah filler on most shows. Makes it a lot easier to sit and watch any TV. What did we do before DVR, Tivo, etc.?

I for one would rather just see a shooting show that's just that. A shooting show! There's no need to turn this sport into a stupid reality show. We all know by now that reality shows are all staged. I just wish there was a shooting show that would focus on the guns in general. Not a soap opera.

Top Shot returns this month.

Drama or not, Too Shot attracts a lot of people, both gun owners and non gun owners. It's a very positive show for promoting firearms.

I watched the first(?) season, the one where the Brit won. Liked the guy and was glad to see him win. The next season I watched an episode or two, but it seemed to me they'd ramped up the 'reality' TV show drama and stopped watching.
I'll check it out again, but if the manufactured drama's back I won't last long.

To paraphrase Frank Zappa, "Shut up and shoot your gun."

I stopped watching it (maybe second season) when the former military guys teamed up to eliminate competitors and then threw the final event to favor a hard luck story. Had little to do with who was the best shot, but how to manipulate the outcome for dramatic purposes.

I'm with Brian. The weapons they shoot and the scenarios they shoot them in are interesting, but the other crap is like having a blister on your heel with two miles to go. Maybe if they had more hot women competitors........

I started watching this show when it first came on and I guess I didn't want to like it.

But, I did.

I am not a die hard fan of it, but it is entertaining. Yeah, I could do without the drama, but the shooting and competition is really good. I have done enough shooting myself to know just how much skill these guys have.
