Mossberg 590 question
The charging handle on my 590 is misaligned a bit. It appears that all I need to do is unscrew the retaining nut, align, and reassemble. If this is the case, what's the best tool for removing the nut? It's round, and has two notches cut in it. A brass tap perhaps?
Thanks Noban |

Brownells sells a multi-brand forend wrench that should work for you.

Noban,
If you don't mind taking the guts out of the receiver, you can slide the forend off of the magazine tube. This will only take a couple minutes. Once you have done that, just use anything that will fit between the notches and unscrew it. I use the shaft of a small diameter screwdriver. Works for me and I didn't have to buy any new tools. There are only five parts that you need to remove from the receiver and then you can slide the forend off and you're ready to rock. HTH, |
