Matte Nickel 1911-Opinions on Changing Finish
I'm getting this gun next week and would like opinions on either putting a hard finish on the slide OR the frame, I don't have $260+ to have both done at the moment. I would like to do the frame as I like the silver 'look' slide over a dark frame. I know nothing about the mechanical interface and how it would ware over time. The gun will be used for range work.
I don't have a beed blaster or sprayer. Thanks-Dan

Why buy a gun that you know you don't like the finish?
Anyway, look into a company called Robar. Look at their roguard finish for your frame. Might take a gander at doing NP3 on top too. Can do the slide, frame, and internals for $250.

If you dont have the money to do both, wait until you do. I also agree, why buy a gun that you are not happy with from the get-go?
