AR-15 "gas buster" charging handle?
anybody use one of these?
http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merch...de=PRI-M69-GB2 I'm pretty tired of getting all the gas back in the face when shooting the suppressed mousegun. |

I thought it was S.O.P. if you were putting a can on an AR you also installed a P.R.I. gas buster.

You can do the same thing with RTV. There is a thread on how to do it over at m4carbine.net or you can spend $90 on a charging handle.

Use them in all all my weapons.
The gas busting part of it is nice, but that is not the best part. They VERY strong. Having broken standard CH's, I have NEVER been able to break one of these. C4 |

Dont see the advantage
In the past 25 years I have owned 7 AR’s in different types from long barreled varmints to CR’s and have shot thousands of rounds.
I have been hit in the face with a charging handle (dim wit standing in the next isle blew an AR up) but have never had a problem with breaking a handle or getting hit in the face with oil or powder residue. Since the handle is only a device to pull back the bolt I don’t see it getting that much stress to cause it to break. The ones that come with a normal AR are pretty strong so I don’t see any advantage and only a disadvantage of adding weight. I would like to see a photo of the two setting next to each other to see just how much difference there is. Since they both have to pass through the opening at the rear of the receiver there can’t be that much difference. I am always for better and stronger, but I don’t see it here |

Have you checked your rings?
If your getting THAT much gas in your face you may want to check your gas rings in the carrier....it may be time for new ones.
