Leaving sear out of handgun to make DAO?
I was detail cleaning my Taurus PT99 and removed sear and was thinking if I left the sear out would the gun function long term like this. I put everything back together and function check was fine other than the heavy trigger pull. Is this ok mechanically to keep like this?

I doubt it will go full auto. Did Taurus also make a DAO version of this pistol? The owners manual should have a parts schematic with a listing of parts noting which are or are not included with the DA and DAO models. If the difference is lack of sear and safety switch, you might be ok. DO NOT test fire with a full mag. Do a series of test with single and then two rounds.
