NOT POSSIBLE, but ... assuming the world is about to end ...
My revolver would be my Ruger SP101 with the Meprolight front sight. My auto would have to be a 1911. |

See, I told you it wasn't possible.
I have to amend what I said before. If I am assuming the world is about to end, I want a high capacity pistol that will run no matter what, so I take my CZ P07 instead of a 1911. Ugh, I hate that I just said that. |

There is not much I could not do with a Glock 20 10mm, and a Ruger Blackhawk .44 Mag Flattop (6.5" barrel). I have told my shooting buddy, "If I could have just one handgun....", and I have said it about each gun, and would be superbly armed if I had both.

My first thought would be a 4" bright stainless Python and a bright stainless Gold Cup National match enhanced model. But I would like the take a SW 329 instead of the Python only because it is a 44MAG and sometimes I might run into large bear. Loaded with 260 hard cast Garrett rounds I am sure that would do the trick.
I think I would go crazy making up my mind because I also love my SW 617 in 22LR which enables me to shoot a lot. |

Self Defense
For the pistol either a Colt 1911 combat commander xse or Glock G23. For the revolver probably a very slick S&W 681 w/4" barrel.

Second would be 6" Trooper, and Springfield Champion Loaded. Third would be 2 1/2"S&W Model 66, and Kimber Ultra Crimson carry II |

This was kind of hard.
I kept seeing this thread, and thought and thought. Glock 19 and Cimarron Model P 5.5" in .45 Colt. My wife gets to keep the others, right? |

Currently? P226 and S&W 620.
Personally ideal? Glock 17 and the 620.

Ruger P94 & Smith Model 58. You said for self defence. General purpose would be a Ruger MKII and Smith 629.
