Barnes 270 150gr TSX FB w/1:10 twist

I have a mid 70's Ruger Model 77 in 270 win. I was thinking of trying the 150 gr TSX but I see their site recommends a 1:9.5 twist or tighter. Any one tried these in a looser twist.

I'm looking at using these for a short range (200 yards or less) northeast white tail load. Mainly want the bullet to not fly to pieces when I hit a rib at 40 feet.
