Lee Progressive Loader

Any thought on the LEE Progresive loaders I currently use an RCBS 2000 that I love. I can get a Lee press fpr about half the price my main concern is the powder measure I was given a LEE perfect powder mesure and it doesnt throw the same charge twice or even close to it But my rcbs is within a 10th of a grain every time. please let me know your thoughts on these thanks.

I just bought a Lee Classic (cast iron) turret press, and I LOVE IT. It's the press that Lee should have offered 20 years ago.

I also have a 12ish year old Lee Disk measure (round hopper) and it throws incredibly consistent charges.

I have used a Lee Pro 1000 for 20 years now, and I love it. 300-400 rounds per hour is much better than 50-100 rounds with a single-stage press. My handgun and 223 rounds are accurate, consistent, and I spend less time fooling with loading and actually shooting. I have done 22-250 on it, but it won't do full-size rifle ammo. Lee has a new progressive out now (Lee Loadmaster) that also does full-size rifle cartridges.

The problem with the Perfect Powder Measure is mainly with rod-type powders due to bridging affecting powder charge density. If you tap the powder measure every time, it will load rod-type powders just fine. I have never had any problem with a Lee Perfect Powder Measure and ball-type powders.

Frank,
Scorch has it right with the perfect measure, I tap it gently with the empty case and mine does great.

lee progressive

I don't know about the 1000 but the Loadmaster catches the primers in the ram and there is a gate at the bottom you can open to dump them.

The Pro-1000 drops the primers right down past the ram. I notched my re-loading bench for ram clearance and put a bucket underneath.
