45 ACP bullets
Recently got back into the reloading game after a 20 year hiatus. Reloading .45 ACP w/ 230 gr. FMJ. Had a good deal on Speer Match grade bullets in bulk, but my source has dried up. I'm looking at 230 gr. FMJ from Golden West Brass. Has anyone had any experience with this company? 2000 rounds @ $170 w/ incl. shipping. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Any alternatives you can suggest.

Well, I guess I should have done a little more research before posting. After looking around, it seems that the 230 gr. bullets from West Coast Brass are plated, not FMJ. I'm still looking for an outlet for 230 gr. FMJ in bulk. The last source I had, sold Speer Match grade 230 gr. for about $82.00 per 1000 delivered. Any quality suppliers that can come close to
that price? John K. |

West Coast Bullets are probably the best plated bullets available. Don't know what their current name is, nor about their availability, but I have shot thousands of them.

Thanks for all the input. I'm really looking at jacketed vs. plated at this point. My first choice would be jacketed, but looking at the cost factor, the plated bullets are looking more inviting. I'll have to try a batch of the plated before I make my final choice.
Thanks again, one and all. John K. |
