I'm really PO'd...

had to take my new 20 gauge Special Sporting Clays to the gun shop yesterday. Was out last Friday with my SIL shooting a pot load of clays. He was using my 20 gauge White Lightning and I was shooting the above. After 150 targets my Special Sporting would not cock the bottom barrel which I shoot first!! I'm sure it's something simple, but never experienced any hiccups like this with any Browning, prior.

Now the waiting...

Sorry about your malfunction. I hear those PA clays are pretty tough and you have to leave them in the pot for quite a while.

I haven't had any issues on any of my Browning O/U's either ....but its probably just a spring or a firing pin failure...not that big a deal really.

I had an incident with my 6 month old Browning XS Skeet today. When I pulled the trigger the firing pin didn't fall.

I opened it, removed the good round, replaced it, closed it and switched the barrel selector from under to over and back to under. It fired and I had no more trouble shooting 100 shots, if we forget the misses.

I figure the problem was that when I got to the range, I fired a round of Remington home defense ammo from which I had removed the shot. I only dis so to dispose of the powder and discharge the primer before trashingit. While it had enough oomph to eject the wad from the barrel, I expect it somehow got the inertia trigger transfer hoop dee doo system convused.

My Browning quit resetting the second barrel, it was a small buildup of crud in the trigger mechanism..

The problem was the sear needed a little polishing to smooth it up. It was hanging up, not allowing the lower barrel to cock. My gunsmith then fired a box of shells through it, without a hitch...

I'm not sure if each Browning was "hand fit" it would be any different...and we all know they're production guns...not really hand fit.

I still think Browning gives you a lot of gun for the money / with very few issues ( I have a dozen or so Browning Citori models ....XS Skeet's, XT Trap's, Lightning's, BT-100..).....and none of them so far, have had any sear issues...and many of them are well over 250,000 shells thru them ...and not all of them were purchased new either...but stuff like that will come up from time to time I suppose.
