Your Favorite Full sized doublestack

I am looking to pick up full sized doublestack handgun in the next few days, and I have already started the search. It will probably be the last handgun I will buy for the next 6-8 months or so, and I want to get it right I have already looked at the M&P40 (9mm is definitely not out of the equation though), the Steyr M40A1, the Ruger SR40, and I still want to take a look at the XD too. I know in the end, the choice is mine, but I just want a few opinions. I mentioned all the .40 S&W guns I've looked at, but I'm pretty flexible on caliber. Thanks y'all!

I don't see Browning Hi-Power on your list? The original double-stack. .40 is rare and out of production, but that might make it more appealing than 9mm.

Funny you bring that gun up. I had a co-worker that offered to sell me his Browning Hi-Power about 5 years ago for $375...I didn't buy it because I knew nothing about guns. Every now and then I'm reminded of how stupid a decision I made that day, It came really early this year

P.S: It was a .40S&W too

I own a XDm. Twenty rounds of 9mm on tap and flawless function allows me to recommend this one.

HK USP in .40 S&W, my first handgun and to this day I still love it more than any other firearm I own.

All metal, my choice is the Sig P226. In plastic, M&P. I have both, in 9mm and .40. (Although my M& .40 is a compact and the 9mm is a single stack Shield.) Both are solid platforms, and both just fit me better than the others. Any of the others mentioned so far in this thread are good guns. Get the one that fits you the best.

Do yourself a favor and check out the Walther P99AS if you are interested on 9mm. It may be the perfect double-stack nine.

It's also great in .40SW, if a little flippy due to it's light weight.

Beretta 92, Beretta PX4, Glock 19/23, and Sig Sauer P229

All four, in my hand, feel and shoot like a dream

My favorite full size in .40 is probably the M&P40, if the G23 is counted as a 'compact'.

XD and Sig 229 would be the ones I would put as my top two contenders.

Another vote for the CZ-75B. Personally, go for the all metal, instead of the CZ-75 P series.

Beretta 92fs

Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle II

Sig P229

I have shot all of these extensively and would recommend any of them.
