I remember high capacity SKS magazines at our local gun shows during the ban were in kits to make them detachable. So the parts came with them. As to whose feeds best, I have no idea, but if you buy a kit be aware that you may be married to that manufacturer to get magazine that will fit his kit.

Don't waste your money

I've never heard of anyone, and I repeat anyone, that's had good luck geting the high-capacity, detachable magazines to work reliably. Learn to load from stripper clips, its just as fast.

Or, if you MUST have a hi-cap SKS, find an SKS-D or SKS-M, which take AK magazines. My SKS-M works flawlessly with every AK mag I've ever used.

Count me as another who has never heard of a high cap mag that works well with an SKS and I tried a bunch in my younger days - unsuccessfully.

If you want an AK, then go buy an AK (if your state allows them).

Thanks for all your help, I'll probably stay away from hi cap. mags and get some stripper clips. This forum is great!
