M-14 Cleaning Kit & Tools?
Hi All,
I've come across a metal box with US stamped on the front that seems to contain tools and screw "driver" for use with an M-14. Is this what I've got? If so any idea what it might be worth? Thanks John |

Well i don't know anything about this but...... From what i found online and looking at what is in your photo,it looks like a maybe WW2 or korean era 1911 squad cleaning kit that someone has turned into a M-14 cleaning kit. But it's just a guess from photos i found online. Maybe it can point in a direction at least.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=286258279 I noticed the only cleaning kits with large containers like that were squad cleaning kits. So if you do a search for M1912 or 1911 squad cleaning kits you'll find more photos. Probably not complete but they seem to be pretty rare. Good luck. |

Thanks for the response. You are correct. After doing a little research online I find the box is WWII or 50's version and it is for 1911 squad cleaning kit. I'm surprised at what even the empty box sells for! Even the little galvanized tins are pricey.
You were a big help. At least now I know what parts I've got and can figure out what to do with it. From what I've seen so far it looks like I might be better off selling the parts. John |
