Pick my poison...err...powder.

As I new loader I am looking for some more advice/guidance. I have the following powders, primers and bullets for 223 and 308. I WAS ABLE TO FINALLY SCROUNGE ENOUGH TO PULL THE HANDLE A FEW TIMES

Powders

Benchmark - 1lb
CFE223 - 1lb
H335 - 2lbs
TAC - 1 lbs

Bullets

200 - 46 grain Winchester HP's
100 - 75 grain Hornady AMAX
100 - 147 grain Winchester FMJBT
50 - 168 grain Barnes TSX BTHP's

Primers

CCI #400 Small Rifle Primers
CCI Bench Rest LRP's

So if these were your components what would you match with what? The firearms are:

.308's are all 22 to 24 inch barrels with a 1:12 twist. The .223's are all 18" to 22" barrels with 1:8 twist.

Thanks,

TFL'ers

I'd look in a couple of my manuals to see what they have matched up with what...

Also if I could find TAC, I'd start with that, I hear its great for 308.

Hate to say it but I agree. Get a manual.

The powders you have will work with the bullets you have.

I recommend TAC for the heavy bullets, it generally does well. I'd use CFE223 for the lighter bullets until they are gone.

What works best for you will only be found through loading and shooting.

Thanks Jimro that is what I was looking for. I have multiple manuals but didn't know what powders worked best with what bullet weights.
