Romy AK 47 build

I just pressed in a new barrel into a romy kit. I purchased a go and no go gauge. Using the gauges the bolt closes on both of them. I didn't buy the field gauge because they didn't have one in stock. Where do I go from here. DO I need the field gauge? Is there another alternative?

Thanks

If it is a new barrel, the barrel pin was not drilled yet, so you can press until the NO-GO won't close. I never had to, but I have heard of pressing for proper headspace and drilling an oversize pin in. I would try to get the proper spacing. I think there are some FIELD gauges available for 7.62x39, but you should not mix brands of gauges.

Thanks

It is a new barrel so I don't have to worry about a previous pin hole. I had though pressed the barrel in as far as possible or so I think. I pulled it out some and have now pressed it back in so I will now check again.

Thanks for your help
