Column idea: a tactics roundtable

Hi Rich and Denny-

Have you ever considered doing a monthly roundtable, where reputable trainers (Awerbuck, Smith, Reitz, etc.) answer a practical question? The topic could be about weapons, equipment, specific tactics, training techniques, etc. I would find it interesting and educational to compare and contrast the varying opinions. You could even solicit possible questions from your readership (I know I have some!).

Thanks for your hard work and a great magazine.

MT

P.S. Denny, did you ever receive my review of the Ed Brown Special Forces gun?

While an interesting idea, it's probably not feasible at this time, Michael. Most of the staff have such busy schedules that for the life of me I don't know where they find the time to write their columns and occasional articles.

I have not recieved the article you mention. Please resend.

Denny

Article resent. Thanks.

Regarding the roundtable idea, I know what you mean about the columnists having busy schedules. I thought of a possible solution around this. If a number of questions were prepared in advance, the Roundtable editor (I volunteer!) could call the respondants one at a time, chug through the questions, and record the answers. The Roundtable editor would then have to transcribe the answers, but after just a one phone call to each trainer, the material for 6-7 columns would be in hand.

The trainers who were interviewed would only have to spare time for a phone call, and the benefit for them could perhaps be given either monetarily or via a free Contact link to their respective training company or some combination of the above.

What do you think? Still not likely to work out? Just a dream of mine.

Thanks!

Great idea. One of the best parts of any training class I've attended has to be those candid comments in the downtime. Simple questions posed by students often bring about some really good dialogue.
