Rear Sight
I just picked up a Savage 30-06 Springfield Super Sporter. Serial # 18996 The rear iron sight is broken. How do I remove the dovetail piece left? How can I find another rear site to fit. Having a problem locating one?

You can remove the sight by drifting it out with a punch and hammer. Preferably, use a brass punch and tap lightly. If you have access to some kroil (super-penetrating oil) that'll help.
You can probably find a replacement sight at Brownell's or Midway http://www.brownells.com/ http://www.midwayusa.com/
