When I was in Basic there was a storm that was predicted to come that day. So the DSes got us into the cattle buses and hauled us to the range to train in the rain and other nasty weather. Like the other posters have said, war doesn't wait for weather. In fact rain is good, to me at least. It keeps you cool, it makes it harder for the enemy to notice your movement (though this is a two-way street) and the rain is relaxing to me.

Being a guy I like playing in the rain and mud as much as anyone else (OK, lots of gals like that stuff, too), but it's just not a good thing for your fine weapons. It mostly depends on what I'll be shooting. I wouldn't think of intentionally getting my glass bedded, National Match M1A drenched, but have shot matches in the rain with my M1 Garand because it can be easily field stripped and cleaned. Same with a 1911 pistol, but I'd hate to soak one of my fine Colt or S&W revolvers.
