N-frame and 250-255 gr 45 acp

Just for the heck of it does anyone use something like this? Would I need to go with +P brass or could it be done with standard 45 acp brass?

What kind of loads do ya'll use with this as I know it's being done. Thanks.

There is load data for standard pressure 45acp with heavy bullet weights. Alliants 2004 manual (available online if you google it) has loads for 260 grain jacketed bullets and http://www.reloadammo.com/ has that as well. The same load data will work with cast lead as well.

I cast my own slugs for 45 and my 230 grain mold drops them a 242-245 grains. I've worked it up to max using 230 load data with multiple powders and have never seen pressure signs.

Good ideal. I guess I can buy a box of autorim and shoot them up and use the brass for my 250ish gr loads. I've never used autorim so thanks for the tip.
