Reloading .380 ammo with Power Pistol

The Alliant Powder information shows some impressive velocities using Power Pistol powder, 1105fps , but the pressure is up to 21500. Of course, I would start lower and work up slowly, and the ammo would be used in a CZ 83, which is very strong. Has any one used this powder in a .380? Many other load for the
.380 is down around 15000 pressure! Your experience please. Shoot Safely

I've used 6.2gr AA#7 behind a 115gr XTP in my Makarov, that's the limit for it...didn't chrono it but it should have been 900fps or so and of course it's a pretty heavy bullet.

No experience with power pistol though.

Acording to my notes with the following basic setup. 90 grn Seirra JHP with cci500 primers, starline brass, .960 col.
4.4 grns PP "Lame and weak"
4.6 grns PP "weak and 1" low"
4.8 grns PP "close to point of aim, reasonable recoil, repeat the load"

I did not look up the book max, but I quit at 4.8 because it met the criterea for the 380.

PP WORKS!!

In fact, it works too well for the HK Mod 4.

We were chrono testing and group testing at the same time, carefully comparing pressure signs with factory ammo and rejoicing over the velocities matching the advertised speeds for our less-than-max loads in .380.

Then the frame cracked. !!!

Our post-martem conclusion was that the HK 4, being designed originally for the .32 ACP, wasn't up to the slide velocities generated by Power Pistol. What a shame, but only for that model of pistol.

I love PP for its performance/pressure payoff, but the flash is a bit much.
