Legal or not?
I have a Beneli pump, don't know what model but it is exactly the same action as an 870. Anyway, it is 18 1/2" barrel and will hold 6 in the tube and 1 of course in the chamber. Nothing different about the stock, nothing after market on it, all original. I live in Arizona too.

Nothin' sounds fishy there... just need a plug to limit rounds to 2+1 if you plan to hunt any federally regulated "migratory bird species" such as ducks and geese...

As long is the barrel is at least 18" (measured from the closed breechface); the overall length is at least 26"; and you follow Hogdog's advice, you are good.

check your local game laws for hunting. Some places have restricted shotguns to 3rnds for game other than Fed Migratory Birds as well. As far as the dimensions of the gun go, you are ok by Federal law.

Don't only check your state's game laws, check with the State Police and/or the Attorneys General - some state's minimum shotgun barrel length is longer than the Federal Minimum length of 18".
I knew of at least one state that bans shotguns with barrels under 20", if they haven't changed that legislation recently. . |
