Early SP2022

Did the early Sigs have a proprietary rail?

Looking at one used but its got a strange rail on it, not the segmented my newer one has.

Not in person so I can't check.

Listed as an SP2009

Same here but can't track it down, busy day and just came up out of the blue.

Seemed like a good price, not even sure where it was made yet.

Also looks a tad shorter, did they sell the compact in that version at one point?

My SP2340 has a rail that only fits products made specifically for it. I believe the SP2009 is the same way. If I am correct the 2009 is just the 2340 in 9mm. The 2022 on the other hand has a universal rail.

I don't think the 2022 did... but yes, the early ones did, I believe... or no rail at all.. see the SP29009.

My SP 2340 has the proprietary rail.

I thought that the differences between the older 2340 and the 2022s were the standard 1913 rail and squared off trigger guard (on the 2022). Otherwise, they are the same(?).
