Glow in the dark gun?
The Glock thread got me thinking, would anyone else want one? I could actually see it useful on a dresser or night stand.

If you put a decent set of night sights on a gun, they will generally make the gun visible in the dark if it is oriented properly with respect to the user. And night sights have the added benefit of providing some help with aiming.

Wouldn't want. Dead giveaway for my position and would draw my attention to the polymer: which is neither the target nor the front sight. Plus, it would have that pasty white plastic look during the day (I've had lots of glow in the dark toys)

The night sights alone should help you find the gun.
Just a thought, but I have a Spyderco knife with the scales made from glow material. That thing glows like crazy and is really bright after charging. I'd wonder if a gun the size of a Glock, using the same type of material, wouldn't actually effect your night vision?

As pointed out, a tactical disaster. They can see you, you can't see them.
And as pointed out, unnecessary because you can see the night sights anyway if the gun is pointed away from the bed. |
